Today the Orlando Sentinel newspaper posted an article about an Orange County School District teacher who’s been posting hate-filled anti-Muslim tweets, and yet she continues to teach at Bridgewater Middle School (a public school outside of Orlando).

And get this…. she’s a 7th grade Civics teacher.

From the article at www.orlandosentinel.com/…

The posts by Sundai Brown, 51, a teacher at Bridgewater Middle School, include one that reads, “Imans worldwide instruct muslims to invade western countries, outbreed them, overthrow governments, kill infidels and implement sharia law,” according to screen shots of her post shared on Twitter and Facebook.

and

In another, she retweeted a post that read, “If you think Hurricane Irma is bad, wait till you get a load of Hurricane Allah.”

In the article is lists even more, and from the picture on the header of the article, you can see some of the hateful Retweets as well.

Apparently the Principal of the school, Andrew Jackson, knows of the situation and has “addressed these concerns with the teacher at the time”, but that was back in mid-2017. Since then, the teacher has continued to retweet hate as of December 2017. Her Twitter account was recently deleted after this story started to gain steam in social media. The Superintendent of OCPS has also been stonewalling and ignoring parents questions, instead referring back to the principal.

Parents on the their local Bridgewater Middle School Parents Facebook group are understandably upset and want some answers about when the district knew, what actions were taken, and if these hate posts indeed continued to happen even after the supposed discipline.

And there’s this:

School district spokesman Kathy Marsh said Brown remained employed with the district and that she could not say whether the posts prompted a district investigation.

So the question is, if the concerns were “addressed”, then why does the teacher continue to work at Bridgewater Middle School?

This story needs some national attention to get some action taken and to keep our kids education safe and separate from hateful people.
